M & S chose to celebrate their long-awaited wedding day at the Hotel Saint-Sulpice in Old Montreal. They wanted a private, intimate Old Montreal Wedding with a small group of close friends. Their love waited many years to finally see this day, having lived apart internationally for many years. I met this special couple and their good friends in their suite at the Saint-Sulpice, their terrace facing directly at the back of the Notre-Dame.
It rained the first half of the day, when miraculously, the sky cleared just in time for an outdoor terrace marriage ceremony before an officiant. As the light began to fall, we managed to have ourselves a wonderful portrait session outside, across the street from the hotel, and the couple were able to share a few moments to themselves for the camera, before their friends joined us for a joyous group portrait.
Back upstairs on the terrace, a breathtaking post-rain September fuchsia sky blazed over the Notre-Dame for a few more gorgeous Old Montreal wedding portraits, backed by the wonderfully gothic silhouette of the Notre-Dame. Finally, a lovely dinner around a small table brought these dear friends together to raise their glasses in honour of the newlyweds. It was a special honour for me to be included. A warm-hearted congratulations to M & S!
