Dreamy Candlelit Winter Wedding in Montreal!
Given that Austin successfully surprised Emily with a marriage proposal after hiking a glacier in Switzerland, it made perfect sense that they dreamed of a winter wedding, and they chose none other than La Toundra in Montreal’s iconic Parc Jean-Drapeau, best known for its breathtaking wall-to-wall, floor-to-ceiling windows.
Their day began with Emily getting ready at Auberge du Vieux-Port and Austin preparing with his crew at The David Hotel. The guys took a stroll for an ambitious sub-zero walk-and-shoot style portrait session by a few historical Old Montreal landmarks, before heading to the venue for the ceremony and reception.
Braving the cold, the couple, their family, and wedding party opted for snowy portraits with big smiles and tight hugs, making it all the more heartwarming, and unforgettable.
The celebration felt like a destination wedding for the couple who traveled from Ontario, along with their entire intimate guest list who flew in from different parts of Canada to celebrate their beautiful union.
The decor, beautifully planned and executed by Events by Paige Ligris, featured plenty of glowing candles, twinkling lights, and lush floral arrangements that created a warm, cozy, and elegantly romantic reception atmosphere.
It was a day filled with so much love and joy in honour of a couple of best friends who got their happily ever after in the presence of their dearest people! Cheers to this brilliant first wedding of 2026!
